Vitamin C is great for synthesizing certain hormones – yes those ones and cranberry juice is a great source of this. Mix it with Grand Marnier and you have La vie en rouge cocktail, a heady mix guaranteed to perk you up for pleasure. Put a little sizzle into your play with a Basil Gin fizz. Basil is full of exciting vitamins and minerals perfect for lifting your libido. Vitamin A in particular is necessary for certain hormone production and magnesium which can be a relaxant and lessen anxiety, the tingle on your tongue of the soda water should add that little bit of fizz of anticipation. If your venue of choice does not mix cocktails or you are not the type of person to drink them then in fact, beer can actually improve libido although make sure you pick the citrus based ones rather than the high alcohol percentage ones as you don’t want to be nodding off at an inopportune moment!

As there are plenty of drinks which are great for a first date, there are as many which are terrible. Steer clear of anything with orange juice in it as whilst the vitamin C and citrus effect can keep you awake, other ingredients will make you feel lethargic. Anything with olives is a definite no-no, they give bad breath which is most definitely a turn off! Never order things like a vodka and redbull, aside from its connotations of classlessness, excessive caffeine has been proven to lower libido and that is not a recipe for a successful first date.
